Coachella is known for amazing performances, reunions, and antics. It is also known for expensive water, cramped camp sites, insane sunburns and sweating bros all up in your face. So to get the Coachella experience delivered straight to your computer check out the highlight videos (courtesy of the people who made the journey and posted them on Youtube). Here's an even better idea, take your computer outside and sit in the sun while watching the performances. That way you can get a mad sunburn, know everything that went down at Coachella and look super awesome to all your friends.
"Hallelujah"
Leonard is 74-years-old and 100% amazing.
"Unless It's Kicks"
Okkervil River is my current favorite band. Everyone I introduce to them falls in love. Try listening to their Coachella performance without becoming enamored.
"All These Things That I've Done"
Raise your hand if you can honestly say you don't want to suck face with Brandon Flowers.
As close as I'll ever come to seeing The Beatles. Sir McCartney almost makes up for his recent mediocrity with these Coachella performances.
"Yesterday / Helter Skelter"
"A Day in the Life" / "Give Peace a Chance"
"Roll Over Beethoven"
The other half of "She & Him" is still amazing when it's just Him.
"How Could Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel" / "Throwing My Arms Around Paris"
Morrissey can sing about literally anything and I would still swoon. As long as the lyrics come through his silver lined throat I'm down for anything.
"Divinations"
May I have some rock please?
"Silver Lining"
I'm not a huge Jenny Lewis fan, however I love a lot of the cuts from the new album. Really beautiful and heartfelt.
"Zero"
I've loved YYYs for a while. The new album is different, but cool. It kind of reminds me of "Adore" by Smashing Pumpkins.
Be sure to watch for Coachella 2010 where you can see all of this in person.
Or be sure to watch for Coachella via Youtube 2010 where you can watch all of this from your couch.
"White Winter Hymnal"
Possibly the most blogged about band in 2008. No matter what size venue they play they are always incredible.
"Paper Planes"
For some people this song is an acquired taste. Once you acquire a taste for it you will crave it all the time.
"Fight the Power"
Ummmmm…. HELL YES!!!!
"Nantes"
I want to be in this band. I want to be every member in this band. Or even just the ukulele in this band would be OK.
"Sunshine"
Slug killed it at Coachella. His last album (When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That Shit Gold) has been killing it in my car since last year.
"Staring at the Sun"
Every time I see them perform (except on SNL) they never cease to amaze me. It's like a burrito made of rap, indie, congas, and hair.
"No You Girls"
Thank god for the UK.
"Lazy Eye"
The guitars, the solos, the yelling, the mellows, the awesomeness.
"Lazer Mind Meld"
I'm totally freaking out man…. and it's freaking awesome.
"Shut Up and Let Me Go"
You heard this sassy English club chick – DO IT!
