Great Brook State Park

Chosen by Yankee Magazine’s Travel Guide to New England as Editor’s Pick, Great Brook Farm State Park stands as a jewel in northern Massachusetts! There are over 20 miles of trails available for walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. During the winter months, cross-country skiing is available and one trail is lantern lit for a “moon light” experience!

The Cranberry Bog

The Duffy’s locally grown cranberry bog (within walking distance from Great Brook Farm State Park) was established over 100 years ago. One of the many protected parcels of the town of Carlisle. This bog covers 40 acres.

 

What else is there to do?

Historic Lexington and Concord are just a few miles a away; Paul Revere’s famous ride passed through town, and Henry David Thoreau’s Walden Pond is just down the road.  Of course, the coolest city on the planet is a quick 35 minutes drive. The Harbor, Faneuil Hall, Duck Tours, The Common, Newbury Street…need I go on?

An easy walk to Ferns any time of the year. Walk out our back door to Great Brook State Park for hiking and biking in the summer and ski in / ski out in the winter (well…no lifts or anything…but you can still head out on skis).

Dairy barn tours are available to the public on the weekends Come hike, mountain bike, have a picnic, fly a kite, walk the trails with your family, bring your own canoe and paddle the ponds, or trailer you horse and blaze the 1,000 acres of trails. Visit our petting zoo and feed the goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks. 130 Holstein cows reside at the farm and the ladies are some of the top producing cows in New England! Enjoy a phenomenal ice cream cone of your choice from 60 flavors of ice cream, yogurt, sorbet, and sherbet.
