I am currently working from home and suffer from several nights a week of insomnia. The t.v. is often my favorite way to waste the night away. These re-runs keep me up all night.
THE ultimate late-night classic television show station.
The Beverly Hillbillies
I’m from Texas, but never knew that oil was called Texas Tea until I saw this show. It’s kind of like trying to win the lottery. The odds are against you, but anything can happen. Granny ruled.
The Jeffersons
This was pretty controversial at the time, and I think it is one of the best t.v. shows ever. They broke through several stereo-types of the era with bi-racial relationships and minorities being successful. Plus, it’s hilarious.
Dammit Weezy!
Just Shoot Me
About 8 years ago I saw a David Spade stand-up routine and cracked my ass up. I know people either love him or hate him, but I love him. And he brings his stand-up into his characters. He makes the show for me.
Sanford & Son
I love the theme-song. My sister and I joke that when our houses are messy, we are kickin’ it Sanford & Son style. The father/son relationship is pretty funny and genuine and all the junk reminds me of the garage sales we had growing up. Oh, to be a kid again.
Frasier
Frasier. How do I love thee/?I did not watch this show at all when it was on prime time, but now that it’s on my beloved Lifetime Television for women, I can’t help but watch. And it cracks me up. I really like all the characters and would give my right foot to live in that apartment. I wish I had a dog as smart as Eddie, and an Eames lounge chair and ottoman.
Frasier
Eddie is the coolest dog ever.
M.A.S.H.
As much as I have tried to avoid this show, it is always on and my parents happen to love it. I am slowly starting to understand the Korean War ‘humor’ (if you will) and I have a crush on Alan Alda. I think they drink a lot more than I would expect surgeons to drink, but what do I know.
M.A.S.H.
They’re probably drunnk now.
The Brady Bunch
Did you really think I would leave the Brady Bunch off my list? I’m a girl! I grew up watching this show and still love it. Again, these kids are pretty much bizarrely well behaved (except when they throw the ball in the house.) Cindy always bugged me but I thought Greg was really keen, especially when he surfed. That was an awesome double-episode in Hawaii.
So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly…Hills that is.
Good Times
My family calls me JJ, so of course I love JJ’s character. But, I am a fan of Janet Jackson’s character on the show and like that they show realy family issues, suffering, fun and all the things real families go through. Classic.
JJ from Good Times
Star Trek
I’m actually not a big sci-fi fan, but I like the crazy make-up and costumes so much. I laugh out loud at some of the things they wear. It’s awesome. Not to mention they are in space. Pretty cool. And super realistic.
Star Trek
Awesome make-up and costumes.
The Adams Family
The special effects are actually pretty cool for a show from this era. The costumes were fantastic and I still like the humor even though it’s decades later. I’ve always wanted to take a tour of the ‘house’ and thought it would be great if the Munsters and the Adams were friends.
Obviously a fan of Cousin It.
Leave it to Beaver
Eddie Haskell before years of drinking and drugs.
Leave it to Beaver
Have you watched the Beaver lately? Talk about making you feel like a bad kid. These children were saints compared to my sisters and me! I thought Wally was super cute, but, because I like bad boys…I always liked Eddie Haskell more. Some things never change.
Eddie Haskell, The Beaver and Wally after, um, many years.
