The 400-acre historic Audubon Park houses the Audubon Zoo, the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and the Entergy IMAX Theatre, in addition to other parks and educational facilities dedicated to the appreciation of nature. Containing some of the most popular family-oriented attractions in New Orleans, the Audubon Nature Institute complex features indoor and outdoor animal exhibits, educational film and beautiful parks. For a nominal fee, visitors who purchase a combination pass for more than one attraction can ride the Audubon Express Shuttle between points. Formerly the site of the 1884 World's Fair, the park is located on the riverfront in downtown New Orleans, just south of the Loyola University - New Orleans campus.

The museum is located south of the French Quarter, within walking distance of Lafayette Square. Visitors can follow the different aspects and stages of the second World War through interactive exhibits, such as a recreation of the sands of Normandy Beach which includes the positions of the amphibious assault vehicles.

The Louisiana State Museum is New Orleans' most prominent heritage attraction, housing thousands of artifacts and works of art representative of the state's colorful history and cultural diversity. Visitors may view permanent collections in the areas of visual arts, jazz, costumes and textiles, and science and technology, as well as exhibits including photos of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The Museum operates five properties in the famous French Quarter: the Cabildo, Presbytere, 1850 House, Old U.S. Mint and Madame John's Legacy.

The Gulf of Mexico exhibit, which features three species of sharks, is the site's largest, holding over 400,000 gallons of water in a 17-foot high tank.
