But I Don't Want to Work Out...Do You?
Working out is one of the necessary evils in life. I never really want to do it, but after I do, I feel really good. Plus, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend getting some physical activity in once in a while. Or maybe they all do. As the weather gets colder, I dread dragging myself out of my warm apartment to work out even more than normal. So help me get excited. How do you work out?? How do you get your motivation up?? How do you keep it exciting??
Treadmill
I’ve just about overcome my long-lived hatred of the treadmill. I can now run for an extended amount of time without dying. That doesn’t mean I greatly look forward to my dates with the treadmill, but it makes it a little more liveable. Rain, sleet, or snow, the treadmill is there for me. And it only makes me trip once in a while.
What I really do on the treadmill
Sometimes I agree with the catz. Yeah, I was on the treadmill for 3 hours today! Napping…but still.
Pilates
I try to attend Pilates class twice a week and I actually really love the workout it gives me. After class I definitely feel properly stretched and I even feel like I walk a bit taller (Pilates improves posture!). I’m also getting more flexible and can see a definite improvement week to week. If I can’t make it to class, I can do it myself or with the help of a video. Doesn’t get better than that!
Tug Of War
Tug of war a good full body workout! Even better if you have a mud pit in the middle! :)
Hip Hop
Perfecting your music video moves and jamming to hot music is the best way to break a sweat! So much fun, you’ll forget you’re working out.
Pole Dancing
This is more of a recommendation for Susie (the author of this guide) than it is my personal secret to keeping fit. But it’s totally a legitimate exercise.
Spinning
Spinning is my newest cardio obsession. Not only is it more interesting than regular cardio exercise (awesome music and motivational instructors), but it’s so much more time effective. I sweat more in a 45-minute spin class than two hours of any other cardio! At first, I was really intimidated, but I encourage everyone to try it out!
Krank at Sports Club/LA
Krank is just like spinning, except it’s for your arms!
Ski It Up
I put on my finest ski gear and hit the slopes!
You have not truly tried out the slopes in Colorado unless you have tried all of the resorts in Aspen!

Since I am already in town…. maybe I can rest up here and stretch for my next day skiing… A woman can dream!

I love cupcakes, the color pink, writing, technology, blogging, trying to learn Japanese, and walking from one end of Boston to the other.
I make it my goal to try one new thing in Boston every week, but sometimes I find things I love so much, I just can't tear myself away from them.
