The Busty Girl's Guide to Keeping Your Tatas in Check
With all the push-up bras, padded bras and breast enhancements out there, you may wonder why a girl would want to minimize her bust. Well, if you're like me and have larger than average boobies, there are certain tricks to keep your clothes fitting better and your back and shoulders straight. Read on!
Get Professionally fit for a bra.
I cannot say this enough. Actually, whether you are an A cup or DDD, you should get a professional fit. You’ll be surprised most likely. Experts say that approximately 85% of women wear the wrong size bra. I was. I had no idea they even made a bra my proper size. It not only makes my clothes fit better, but I chose a minimzer so my chest looks smaller and I look thinner when I wear it. See an expert and buy a bra that really fits!

Sports Bra
If you are a C cup or larger, you know the pain that can come with exercising without proper support. Your boobs flop up and down, almost hitting you in the face and it’s not good for your back. Certain websites cater to large breasted women and good support makes all the difference. You’ll feel more comfortable and be able to exercise longer!

V-Necks are your friend.
For busty women, there is almost nothing better than a v-neck for flattering your figure. It breaks up your chest area, shows a little cleavage, and elongates the neck. I try to wear only v-neck t-shirts, and always gravitate towards anything that leans toward this shape.

Love your boobies.
Be sure to get regular breast exams from your doctor and do self checks monthly. Have your significant other help out….they’ll probably enjoy it! Just make sure you know what your breasts feel like and what to look for so you’ll always have those full, voluptuous boobs you take so much care of.

Core exercise is key.
Having a strong core is important for everyone. But when you have big boobies, it’s even more important. Those of us with large breasts tend to slouch and put all our weight forward, causing strain on the back. If you utilize your stomach muscles and stand proud, you’ll save yourself a world of pain, and chiropractic bills.
Shopping Tips
If you’re like me, shopping isn’t always the most fun when it comes to fit. Dresses are almost impossible because my top is always larger than my bottom when it comes to size. Therefore, I prefer separates. Also, it’s often a good idea to get a size up in your top because buttons popping off your blouse during a meeting at work is embarassing and a hassle. See my next step for how to avoid this.
Find a good tailor.
Like I mentioned before, sometimes it’s best to buy your top a size larger so it fits across the widest part of your chest. However, this requires a good tailor to keep your shirt looking like a good fit and not a tent. Oprah gets everything tailored to her body. It can make a world of difference. It does cost money, so I do it on my nicer shirts and investment pieces, and just make do with the rest.

Reduction.
If you are a healthy weight and your breasts are very large, you may want to consider a reduction. Often your insurance will cover it and you’ll be back to work in a couple of weeks and fully healed in about 4-6 months. Truly large breasts can weigh 5 lbs or more and considering you have 2, it’s no wonder we have back pain. Be sure to research your options and look at their work.

Swimsuit shopping.
Swimshuit shopping sucks. Let’s just throw that out there now. But if your breasts are large, you face more challenges than just a poochy belly and cellulite. Again, finding a brand that sells separates is great. Also, do not wear a bandeau top. This is only for small chested girls. If you are going to wear a bikini, a halter top is the way to go. It holds the girls up, keeps you in front of your chest and not falling to the side, and is slimming.
