Start with a mattress...
Obviously, the basis for a great bed is the mattress. And although you may not think you need a new one right now, you just might. Here are some telltale signs:
1. You’ve had it for more than ten years.
Only very high-end mattresses last longer than ten years, so this should be the first question you ask yourself.
2. It has noticeable lumps, bumps, or sagging.
If so, you might as well be sleeping on a bed of rocks.
3. It makes noises (and not because you’re…um…using it).
If you simply lie down on the bed, and your mattress creaks, this is a sign that your mattress is old and in need of replacement.
4. There’s a hole in the middle.
Probably caused by you and your significant other cuddling in the middle of the bed (awww!), it’s just another thing that interrupts what should be a flat surface for your back.
5. You wake up with sore, stiff muscles.
Yeah, it could be the gym. But if morning after morning you wake up feeling sore, it’s your mattress.
So if it’s time to get a new mattress, don’t drag your feet. Here, my friends, is where you must not skimp and where you must buy the very best you can afford.
