Build Your Best Bed

You spend eight (hopefully!) hours a night in it. You depend on it to ensure your rest and comfort, and how it looks even says a lot about you when you've got guests (both romantic and not). So, time to pick that mattress up off the iron frame it came with (or worse, the floor) and put it on the curb. It's time to get a big girl (or boy) bed and finally play with the adults.

This really doesn’t leave you much room to, you know, toss and turn.

Start with a mattress...

Obviously, the basis for a great bed is the mattress.  And although you may not think you need a new one right now, you just might.  Here are some telltale signs:

1. You’ve had it for more than ten years.

Only very high-end mattresses last longer than ten years, so this should be the first question you ask yourself.

2. It has noticeable lumps, bumps, or sagging.

If so, you might as well be sleeping on a bed of rocks.

3. It makes noises (and not because you’re…um…using it).

If you simply lie down on the bed, and your mattress creaks, this is a sign that your mattress is old and in need of replacement.

4. There’s a hole in the middle.

Probably caused by you and your significant other cuddling in the middle of the bed (awww!), it’s just another thing that interrupts what should be a flat surface for your back.

5. You wake up with sore, stiff muscles.

Yeah, it could be the gym.  But if morning after morning you wake up feeling sore, it’s your mattress.

So if it’s time to get a new mattress, don’t drag your feet.  Here, my friends, is where you must not skimp and where you must buy the very best you can afford.

Jordan's Furniture

Jordan’s has a great “Sleep Lab” where very patient sales associates will take you from mattress to mattress and let you try out each and every one. They even have a pressure mapping program that will measure the pressure that occurs when you sleep in different positions.

To get the best mattress you can, my advice is that it’s imperative to try them out before you buy. But if you’ve already done this, know what you want, and are ready to order, nothing beats the convenience of 1-800-Mattress. They literally take your order and are practically ready to deliver during the same phone call. Super easy!

I won’t even get into it, but that snoogle thing is scary… and I am sure there are many single people out there that have their own pet snoogle. Gross!
