Each year the Tempe Music Festival takes place. Several stages are set up on Tempe Town Lake and the entire area is fenced off. Hundreds of local businesses partake in the festival and offer their food and their drink to hungry and thirsty spectators.

Generally you will pay a hefty ticket price to get in and then you can enjoy most aspects of the festival without having to pay again. However, food and drink will always cost you money.

There are several major national acts that perform on the big stages at specific times. There are also hundreds of local and regional bands that also perform. Rides and other interactive activities are set up for entertainment and many celebrities can be found throughout the crowd.

Hosted in both Tempe and Scottsdale, the Greek fest takes place the first week of May every year. Where hundreds of vendors decorate the Tempe Town Lake with their many booths, foods and wares, and several main stages are set up for live performing acts. Thousands of people attend to take part in the festivities which span about three days.

You can go on rides, have your face painted, enjoy live performances, learn about Greek culture and of course, eat some of the best damn Greek food that you will ever taste.

The history and the entertainment of this annual festival are second-to-none, especially if you enjoy eating Greek food. The prices are fairly cheap and there are generally even a few beer tents at the festival for the adults to enjoy sampling many fine Greek brews.

The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is a very large food and drink festival which is hosted at the large Scottsdale Civic Center the third week of every April.

There are literally hundreds of booths hosted by fine restaurants, many of them local, which sell samples of their best foods. You can buy tickets and then trade the tickets in for samples. Trust me you will not taste better food in your entire life.

Several major beer companies sponsor the event and they host a rather large conglomeration of beer tents in the center of the festival. A main stage features several live performances of well-known bands to entertain the masses.

There are also rides and tons of vendors selling cool keepsakes for those who are looking to stock up. Just make sure that arrive early as parking is very hard to find and you will wait in long lines otherwise, as more than forty thousand people try to cram into this large food festival every year.

Every year on December 31st, the city of Tempe shuts down the Mill Avenue district, which has hundreds of shops, bars, nightclubs, theatres and restaurants. And sets up several outdoor stages, fences the entire area off, and hosts the Tempe New Year’s Block Party.

This is a musical festival like no other. There are generally several national acts that perform. In 2007 the hit band, Bare Naked Ladies, took to the main stage. Hundreds of other well-known bands and local bands also perform.

There are beer tents and liquor tents where you can buy arm bands and drink all that you like. Food vendors are on-hand cooking up some of the most delicious food that you can think of.

Sometimes they even host rides and other attractions. You can literally walk around for hours and not see the same thing twice. Not to mention being entertained the entire night.

Celebrities host the New Year count down and then champagne is handed out to all of-age. The party also celebrates the two college football bowl games in Tempe, the Insight Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl—which are held the day before the festivities.

Hosted at Tempe Town Lake every year during the last week of April or the first week in May, this festival is obviously a beer lovers dream come true. Hundreds of beer vendors set up tents and allow patrons to enter for a few tickets and sample all of the beer that they can possible drink.

There are also rides as well as several vendor booths, food booths and a few stages with live performances by local bands. The best part is that all of the proceeds go to local charities. Drink beer, make merry and help people.
