Every so often, I find myself on a hunt for good clean fun in the city. Whether caused by a hangover, a cold, a sudden inspiration to be healthy, or a visit from an underage relative, it's always good to have these types of backup plans. Here are my suggestions:
Go Bowling
For one reason or another, I always tend to forget how boring bowling is. Everytime someone suggestst that we go bowling, I become genuinely thrilled with the idea. I guess it’s kind of like childbirth.

This is your basic alley, complete with a few old-school arcade games, and a DDR. They’ve got a decent beer selection, and a bunch of really tempting 25 cent prize machines. Bring a roll of quarters or you’ll regret that sticky hand on laundry day.

I am told that frolf aficianados take the game very seriously, and do not appreciate those who play at a leisurely pace. However, there is definitely a scene at the Golden Gate course that welcomes newcomers and their six-packs of Natty Ice.

Come experience what socialism feels like at Yerba Buena, where the skates are smelly, the hot chocolate machine is out of order, and the Zamboni driver disappears for hours on end. Seriously. I’d go.
