I Love the Recession! Well, I Love Boston's Recession Restaurant Deals Anyway

33 Restaurant & Lounge is offering a 3-course dinner for only $33. That’s a really good deal..$11 for course if you want to break it down (no prob, I don’t mind doing the math for you). Plus, if you go to their website, you can get a coupon for another $10 off, which means you pay $22, which means you pay like $7.33 per course. Amazing!

For some reason, oyster deals are huge during this recession. But I guess it makes sense for a place with a name like B&G Oysters, right? On Sunday evenings, the restaurant has all kinds of oyster small plate deals for $3-$12, and on Monday nights they offer lobster small plates for $6-$12. Lobster for that cheap? Um, yes please.

Another oyster deal! 28 Degrees deal is every night from 5-7 p.m. (excellent after work idea!) and oysters are only $10 at this time. Think about how many oysters you could eat for the price of a meal!

Bella Luna is offering $5 appetizers every night, which is pretty fabulous. You could gather a few of your friends together and head to Bella Luna for a bunch of appetizers and drinks. Appetizers are my favorite part of a meal!

Grafton Street’s recession special means that nothing on the bar menu is over $12. I suppose this could mean that everything on the bar menu is $12 or $11 or something. But they have some really good stuff on their bar menu, especially the calimari and homemade potato chips.

The Metropolitan Club is one of my favorite restaurants in all the Boston area. So, I definitely want to take advantage of their recession special. Monday night is burger night, which means you can choose between 3 different burgers for only $4.99 each. This is a super nice restaurant with a great vibe to it, and for $4.99, you can also afford a pretty nice bottle of wine to go along with your burgers!

Oh hi, it’s another oyster deal. At Lineage you can sit at the bar and eat $1 oysters every night from 5-7. How many oysters do you think you can eat in 2 hours?? Gather some friends and start a competition. Or maybe not…Lineage is kind of a classy place.

Tremont 647 allegedly has really fabulous tacos. I’ve never tried them, but I might have to now that they’re having $2 taco Tuesdays. I kind of have a feeling I could eat a lot of tacos when they’re costing me only $2. If tacos aren’t quite your thing, you might want to attend their 3-course vegan dinners on Sunday nights. The entire dinner will only cost you $22.50!

Do you like tapas? If so, you will love Tapeo!! They have some of the best tapas in Boston and their recession special is offering $5 tapas at the bar. This is a fabulous deal and means you can get a whole bunch of them for a really decent price. Better yet, bring your friends and you can try a little bit of everything.

Aujourd’hui is one of the nicest most romantic restaurants in all of Boston. I’ve never been there. Because, well because, it’s extremely expensive and I cannot afford it. So when I heard they were having a recession special I got pretty excited. The special is $55 for a 3-course Sunday dinner. Now $55 may not seem cheap to you, but when you look at Aujourd’hui’s prices, you will see that this deal is actually quite nice. Maybe you can actually try Aujourd’hui now and not break your bank?

Masa is another one of my favorite Boston-area restaurants. And now I’m super excited to go back and take advantage of their recession special, which is offering 50 cent tapas on Mon-Fri from 5-7. 50 cents!! Can you get anything for cents these days? ALSO, Masa is having Sunday brunch for just $7.95. I’ve heard their brunches are amazing so I’m super excited to try this out.

OH and one more thing. Pitchers of sangria are $5 every night in the bar. OK, so can I just move into Masa or something? Because that’s pretty much my plan right now!

Another graet taco recession deal! What could be better? Le Verdad is offering $1 tacos on Tuesdays. I’m not really sure what it is about Tacos on Tuesdays, but the restaurants seem to love it. Too bad it’s on the same day as Tremont 647’s taco deal though, or you could feast on $1 tacos a couple days a week! Oh well, I’m sure the recession will last more than enough weeks for you to get your fill of $2 tacos.

I’m a big fan of Red Sky’s recession deal: daily half price appetizers. I LOVE half price appetizer deals for some reason; they’re just SO good. Unfortunately they only go from 4-6, so if you have to work until 5 and can’t get there until 5:30, you might not get to take too much advantage. Since I work from home, there’s always a chance I can sneak out for a little bit if I so decide.

Also, they offer a soup, sandwich, and salad for $6, which sounds like another amazing deal.

Another restaurant there’s no way I could afford. L’Espalier is a super romantic and glamorous spot. I’m kind of excited about their recession specials, mainly because they’re offering a 3-course lunch for only $24. I cannot even believe it!

Or you can can have a wine dinner on Monday, which includes 4 courses with wine for only $60. A really good deal considering you won’t be spending extra money on wine.

And my favorite? Cheese Tuesdays! It’s four “cheesy courses” with wine for only $68. Um, cheese, wine, and a good price? I really must do this!
