Tea is the new coffee. Don't get me wrong...i'm not about to abandon caffeine intake via my daily grind, cuppa joe, black gold...but, tea is making a place for itself in the social drinking scene.
The Denver Post describes this tea lounge as cross between a sedate bordello and a proper tea room. ... Not your Grandma’s tea room, I’d say!
House of Commons
2401 15th Street Denver, Colorado
Traditional English Afternoon Tea. House of Commons serves High Tea each afternoon. Sometimes, I just stop in for a spot of chamomile and a scone with lemon curd.
No guide would be complete without mention of the Brown Palace Hotel.
Scones, tea pastries and tea sandwiches are artfully prepared by the hotel’s culinary staff each day and Devonshire cream is shipped directly from England. Enjoy the soothing sounds of a harpist or pianist.
Space is limited for Afternoon Tea, so make your reservations early.

A couple of Brit ladies run this traditional tea house. Not too many places in the Denver area have Cornish Pasties on their menu. Tea is traditional black tea…I haven’t been able to get any other choices…you try.
And, always, scones with clotted cream, jam or lemon curd (I know, sounds disgusting, but you won’t know how heavenly it is until you try it!)
