So I Was a Total Pig and Ate...

This past Friday night capped off a long and stressful week involving major upheaveal at work paired with a debilitating cold. So my husband and I ignored pleas from our friends to come out and decided instead to stay in, throw on the baggy sweatpants, and be naughty...which means stuffing our faces with disgusting junk for "dinner". We've all done it: happily attacked a plateful of sin, only to feel completely gross and bloated from all the excess sodium the next day. Help make me feel a smidge better about falling off the wagon and tell me...what was YOUR last pig-out?

The Friday night menu:

Grilled cheese

But not just ANY grilled cheese: piles of processed Land O’Lakes American cheese sandwiched between thickly-cut slices of locally-baked sourdough bread. Grilled on a skillet in a sea of butter.

Still with me? Because on the side I served…

Macaroni & Cheese

Specifically, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Made even worse for you by substituting Half & Half for the milk (it was all we had).

Although I’m pretty sure I lost 2 years off my life from this meal, it was the ultimate comfort food.

Annarosas

50 Water St, Newburyport, MA 01950

The best (and I mean, the BEST) freshly-baked bread you may ever eat is at Annarosa’s. Only open a few days a week, this tiny shop also serves up pastries if you get there early enough.

AN ENTIRE CAKE

No, I don’t think you understand….I have absolutely NO self control when it comes to baked goods, CAKES in particular.
