I once read that fashion trends circle back every 20-30 years. In the event this phenomenon occurs in the hairstyle realm, I thought it useful to educate (in some cases re-educate) the public about the finer points of 80's style hair. And for those readers who currently sport one of these styles, well you may be ahead of the curve, but don't ask for royalties if your photo is included in this guide. * the Classic Mullet and Camero Mullet were repurposed from mulletsgalore.com - a highly recommended mullet resource.
Classic Mullet
This
specimen is a clear demonstration of a classic mullet. Note how this
mullet proudly displays his exotic plumage while in a menacing stance
— classic indeed.
The mesh tank-top, digital watch,
silver chain, and molestache all add points to this fine specimen’s
overall look and mulletude.
Camero Mullet
The
CamaroMullet used to have full reign over the mullet brethren, but that was
back in the ’70s and ’80s. This species has fallen from grace since, but can
still be seen enjoying NASCAR events and shopping at Kragen, or up in the attic
cooking up crank. Distinguishing
features include: a molestache (peach fuzzy), tight-fitting acid wash jeans,
and an ever-present key ring hanging from the belt loop. Feel the
mulletude emanating through your computer screen from this rare pic. It
is not recommended you confront the CamaroMullet, for they are very aggressive
and cannot be hurt (this might be due to the frequent use of methamphetamines,
angel dust, etc.).
Sasquamullet
If Sasquatch were to sport a mullet, this would be the result. Notice how the mullet blends nicely with the back fur … GRRRRRR. Hey, did you happen to see the 40 year old virgin? You might want to check it out ….

Flock of Seagulls
A Flock of Seagulls (also known as Flock of Seagulls) are a synth rock group originally formed by brothers Mike Score (keyboards, vocals) and Ali Score (drums), with Frank Maudsley (bass) and Paul Reynolds (guitar). They became notable in the 1980s for their MTV video for the song “I Ran (So Far Away)”.
Cinderella
Started out as strictly a glam band, but evolved into a much more bluesy, melodic band in the 90’s. Became MTV darlings with a string of catchy singles and successful albums. Little label or media support slowed the band down in their later years, but they continue to have a loyal following.
