The fine city of Scottsdale, Arizona, may not host any major league professional sports teams, but that does not mean that we do not know how to appreciate them. Much like any other city, Scottsdale has its own fair share of great sports bars. Unfortunately they also have plenty of cruddy sports bars. Being the avid sports fan that I am, there is not a sports bar in this city that I have not been to at least on one occasion. So without ado—these are the best sports bars to catch a game, a beer and some eats when in Scottsdale.
When you first walk into Zips on Camelback road and Miller in Scottsdale, you will not be terribly impressed by their exterior, even though it has fresh paint. However once inside you will be greeted by very friendly servers who will happily and quickly seat you, that is if it is not game day when the place gets packed to the brim; on those days you may have to wait for a seat at Scottsdale’s most popular sports bar.
There is plenty to see, do and watch for the avid sports fan at Zipp’s. They have over twenty plasma TVs, both inside and on the patio, and two large projection screens, one inside and one outside, so you can watch the biggest game of the day in style. Not to mention while you hoot with your friends and chug your favorite beer down the hatch.
Zipp’s is one of the very few bars in Scottsdale that offers beers in 32-ounce steins as well as in pitchers (thanks to the new DUI laws). They always have great food specials and their eats are simply fabulous. My favorite is a large Fat Tire with the famous Zipp’s double-bacon cheese burger; a two patty stack with lots of bacon and cheese served with fries and onion rings—go Packers!
There is Plenty of Bar Games at Zipp’s
Whether you like shuffleboard, darts or pool—you will find all of your favorite bar games at Zipp’s.
7373 E Scottsdale Mall Ste 22, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
The only sports bar that is located in the classy Scottsdale Civic Center, Blue Moose has been here for almost twenty years. The bar is rather large inside and features free shuffleboard and pool games all of the time. They have awesome gourmet food and premium import beers on tap. However, to eat and drink at the Moose, which is also outfitted with several HD Plasma large screen TVs, you will shell out a pretty penny as their prices are not cheap.

Known for its eccentric nightlife and clubbing happenings, when that is not going on this place is also a fantastic little sports bar. They have several TVs all tuned to the biggest games of the day. Their eats are okay and their drink prices are very reasonable. A few pool tables and other bar games help to pass the time during commercials. Although small, this place does not get too crowded on game day.

A small Packers sports bar located in central Scottsdale, Arizona. You will find plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game, no matter what league they hail from. The biggest draw to this place is not the interior, which is rather shoddy. Rather it is their free steaks on Wednesdays nights from 7-11pm—where you get all-you-can-eat 8-ounce sirloin steaks for free. And drinks run you about $4. If you want free steak and a cheap drinks this is the place to go for sports fans mid-week.

Located in South Scottsdale in the Sunflower Market complex, this small yet savvy bar is neatly tucked away, and if you do not know that it is there you could easily pass it up. But you would be surely missing out. They are the official Packers Super Fan sports bar and have all sorts of great Packers memorabilia inside. Of course they also show all sorts of sports and have about ten TVs to watch. Every Sunday they host fish fry, all you can eat cod for about $6. A great little sports bar.

The Fourth Floor Grille and Sports Lounge
4999 N SCOTTSDALE RD SCOTTSDALE, AZ 85251
This small and tucked away sports bar, which is located on the fourth floor of the Chaparral Suites Hotel in South Scottsdale, has plenty to offer the sports fan. They have several plasma TVs all which are playing different games from different cable channels. They offer good service, decent eats and wonderful prices. And no, it does not get terribly crowded in here on game day, unlike some other places.
Get all of your sports gear in one place online and for some of the best prices to be gotten. They have everything sports here. If you are in need of a jersey or a hat to celebrate your favorite team, this place should be your first stop.
This website is a great place to find your favorite sports fan gear that is autographed by your favorite athletes. They have everything, from shirts to jackets to hats, you name it. Authentic autographed sports gear for that avid fan.
Duke’s is the largest sports bar in South Scottsdale and they have a just a simply huge location that is set right on the greenbelt side of Eldorado Park. The place is divided into three sections. The very large outdoor patio that has both a smoking and a non-smoking section; the main area featuring a huge bar, plenty of booths and pool tables; and the game side that has about twenty more pool tables, darts and shuffleboard tables.
When at Duke’s you can try your fare from more than thirty beers on tap. Or order by the bottle; they have everything. Their food and drink prices are great and they frequently host game day specials. They also offer a DUI travel service to get you home safely. Anywhere you need to go within 20 miles they will drive you, no charge, but gratuity is always nice.
The owner is typically in, and he is very nice, even if a workaholic. You will not find friendlier or more personalized service at any other sports bar in the city. They have forty+ TVs all playing different games all of the time. The worst thing about this bar is when it comes time to leave—you won’t want to go back home!
Duke’s has a lot to Offer
Ample seating, plenty of TVs and bar games will greet hungry and thirsty, sports anxious patrons at Duke’s.
Goldie’s is owned and operated by the same fellow who owns the ten Zipp’s locations in the state. However, he tried to change things up for the people who like the bar to actually be nice and new inside. Goldie’s only features large-screen and high-definition plasma TVs, while offering the best damn service and plenty of seating.
This is what separates Goldie’s from the others. You can always get a seat; the place is huge. It caters to those who are seeking a more refined sports bar. Very nice booths and newer seating, a mahogany bar and countertops, brand new TVs that are huge and really nice wooden floors. You will pay little higher prices to eat and drink here—but you will be eating and drinking in class while you watch your favorite team win.
If uppity and classy as well as low pricey is what you are shooting for in a sports bar this place is calling your name. Located near all of the posh art galleries in South Scottsdale, Upper Deck is actually one of the better places to go and catch your favorite game. They have three levels and feature more than thirty TVs, so no matter what team you like, they will have their game playing.
They host all day food specials every day of the week. On Mondays its taco day, eat all you want for less than $10. On Wednesdays it is cheeseburger days, $10 all-you-can-eat. They have okay service and their eats are pretty tasty. Although they could have more in the selection of beers. The inside is brand-new and great, which also doubles as a nightclub on the weekends. Upper Deck offers high class sports bar goodness with a nightclub flare—definitively a cool place to catch a game.
This video was created by a sports fan and for all raging sports fanatics. It depicts the cult classic nature of sports fans and encompasses several different sports; must see.
