The Best of the Best in Food Blogs
Hungry? Why, yes actually, I am. Then you've come to the right place. Well, er, maybe not if you're expecting a meal right away. But if you want to look at some drool-worthy food pictures and learn how to cook then yes, you're at the right place. This is the best in FOOD BLOGS! Food blogs combine 2 of my favorite things. Food. And blogs. Basically, I spend a lot of time looking at them. And drooling. And then trying to copy the recipes. Sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing. These are my favorite food blogs. Take a look and maybe you'll learn something. And eat a delicious meal in the process!
Obviously I’m including my own blog in here. Because, duh, it’s the best cooking blog of them all. We were sick of people hating on Martha Stewart all the time, so it’s our mission to show people how awesome her food is and how it’s not all that hard to make. And how everyone can be a little Martha Stewart.
We are not Martha, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to try!
The Pioneer Woman Cooks is one of my favorite cooking blogs beacuse Ree, the Pioneer Woman, is just awesome. She lives on a farm/ranch and cooks amazingly bad for you food that she takes the prettiest photos of.
She’s hilarious, has a beautiful family, and her blog must get at least 15,000 hits a day. Oh, to be Ree.
Bakerella makes the cutest baked good ever. Plus she was on the Martha Stewart show, which makes her a hero in my book. She made those adorable little cupcake lollypops as seen above. If I could do half the stuff bakerella does, I would be a happy blogger.
I fell absolutely in love with Bakerella’s bunny cupcakes at Easter time. Does it get any cuter than this?? Must make this year!
Haha sounds good to me. Type? Or making perfect sense? I’m going with perfect sense.
I have no idea where Closet Cooking’s Kevin came from. I don’t even remember where I found him. I just know that I am obsessed with his blog. And we’d probably be married by now if he didn’t live in Canada. He’s so nonchalant about the whole cooking thing, claiming he was bored with his food so he decided to start cooking everyday. And um, cook did he.
His food always looks amazing and I’ve made TONS of stuff from his website. So obsessed!
Smitten Kitchen is another obsession of mine. And Deb, its blogger, is another past guest on the Martha Stewart Show (when I was in the audience!). Most of her recipes make me say, “omg, I want to make that!!” Plus, her photography is beautiful and I am in love with the name of her blog. SO adorable!
The Recipe Girl is one of my new favorite food blogs. And it became even more favorite after I saw today’s post (and the below picture). She does super creative, fun things that aren’t overly difficult. Lots of great stuff for whatever holiday you happen to be celebrating. Love her!
Candy corn sugar cookies from Recipe Girl. Oh how I need to make these for Halloween…adorable! (Too bad I am not a fan of Halloween. I am a fan of candy and cookies though!).
Whipped is another one of those blogs where the photography just makes you drool. I don’t even care what’s in the picture. It could be chopped liver and Chicago’s Caroline would make it look like the most appetizing thing in the world. Whipped is definitely one of my favorite cooking resources!
Apparently, I’m the last person on Earth to hear of Simply Recipes. Well, that’s not entirely true. I had heard of it before, but I kind of just ignored it because I think the name is kind of boring. Well, that will teach me to judge a blog by its name because Elise’s cooking blog is out of this world. In fact, in 2006, Simply Recipes was listed in Time magazine as one of the 50 coolest websites.
Simply Recipes has a few contributors and tons and tons of awesome recipes. Definitely an ideal resource that I’ll be visiting lots from now on.
Yum. Thank you, Simply Recipes, for making me drool on my computer while I’m trying to work.
Tastespotting
Tastespotting takes the most beautiful food photos from the best food blogs and throws them into a giant drool-worthy collage. I could stare at it all day. Same goes for copy-cat site Food Gawker. Someday my photos will land there!
So yeah, I’m from Boston. Obviously I would love a blog called “Food Blogga.” But I don’t just love it because of it’s name (the blogger is from RI anyway, and not Boston!). I love it for reasons like the one above. Pumpkin pie pudding. That equals love right there. But she has tons of recipes that make my tummy rumble. Like mac and cheese that is actually made with orange cauliflower but allegedly tastes like Dorritos. What? Ok. I’ll try it.
Kalyn’s kitchen is a blog full of recipes all based on the South Beach Diet. Which I am not on. But you know what? I love it anyway! And who can’t use a few recipes with a low glycemic index (what? I do know what that is)? Plus, I met Kalyn at BlogHer Boston and she was absolutely awesome. And a super smart food blogger who is retiring this year to blog full time. Lucky lady!

I love cupcakes, the color pink, writing, technology, blogging, trying to learn Japanese, and walking from one end of Boston to the other.
I make it my goal to try one new thing in Boston every week, but sometimes I find things I love so much, I just can't tear myself away from them.
