Your Favorite Food-Gifting Sites
OK, I need major help here. MAY-jah. I have last-minute gifts to buy for out-of-state relatives, and that means I'm going for the easy (and, I think, the most appreciated): FOOD and DRINK. Ask me where to find the coolest online shopping for yourself or your sister or your home -- no problem. But when it comes to anything edible, I draw a complete blank. Sure, I frequent a few tried-and-true sites that have been old reliables for me over the past few years, but I need a new crop to shop from. I want sites that go above and beyond just the fruit and nuts gift basket stuff: I want quality, I want yummy, and I want just a smidge different. What are your go-to websites when you want to send something downright delicious?
Stonewall Kitchens
Once only available in gourmet grocery stores, Stonewall Kitchens products are now almost everywhere, including their fabulous website. You can always be assured that you’re sending something yummy and something that doesn’t necessarily have to be consumed as soon as it arrives. With quality staples like jams, dips, sauces, and even baking mixes, these are things that will actually be used.
Wine.com
Who wouldn’t be thrilled to get a bottle of WINE in the mail?! I would, to say the least. And I’ve always had great luck and excellent service from wine.com, as both a gifter and giftee. The wine arrives really well-packaged, and their selection is great.
Zingerman's
Unless you live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, chances are you’ve never heard of Zingerman’s. But this deli-turned-foodie-commerce site has won rave reviews for its baked goods, especially their world-famous sourcream coffeecake. Me? I was convinced when Mario Batali gave his endorsement.
Need I say more? I’m only 27, but I totally had a penny candy store when I was a kid. Perhaps that doesn’t count as retro, but man am I nostalgic for stuff like that. (It closed a few years back).
Blackjack and teaberry gum forever!
All of the below, please...
…now that’s a spread!
A fine ham (hold the green eggs) makes an excellent holiday gift in place of roast beast for the holidays, and Harrington’s has the best darn ham this Who has ever feasted upon. Harrington’s also has other delectables from maple syrup and preserves to fine cheeses.
Dean & DeLuca
This high-end grocery store now has a website stocked full of wickedly indulgent eats, from baked goods (like these black & white cookies, perfect if you happen to know someone who is OBSESSED with them) to meats and cheeses. If nothing else, the chic factor that a Dean & DeLuca gift exudes is reason enough to shop here.
Hershey Gifts
Nothing says Happy Holidays like a 5 pound chocolate bar! Or a much smaller personalized chocolate bar. Who isn’t a sucker for something with their name on it?
Fruit of the Month Club
Every year, my aunt and uncle send my family the Harry and David Fruit of the Month Club. Actually, they send it from their dogs “Cissy and Mitzi.” One year they accidentally sent us 2 memberships. That was quite the “fruitful” year.

Harry & David
Harry & David has tons of gourmet food gifts, from “of the month” clubs to candies to cookies. Yum!

I'm gonna have to go ahead and sorta disagree with you on that one
While Harry & David has great products, their shipping and handling charges are insane. If there’s an H&D store near you, buy what you want and ship it yourself.
Callie's Charlestown Biscuits
Renowned handmade biscuits? That come in the mail? Yeah, this might be one of the best gifts ever. Order ’em right here.
