Best and Worst Dressed at the Emmys 2009
Awards season is upon us once again, which means the fashion critiquing can officially commence! Despite tough economic times, it seems like many stars are stepping out on the red carpet in dramatic, gorgeous frothy gowns for the rest of us to envy from afar....well, for the most part. Tragic messes always consistently turn out to any awards show--to up the entertainment factor, if nothing else! Major red carpet trends at this year's Emmy Awards included Grecian gowns, berry hues and one-shoulder silhouettes. Major fashion flops include ill-fitting wrinkled dresses, old-lady like gowns on young stars and much...much...more. Who looked the best? The worst? Discuss among yourselves, darlings!
Drew Barrymore
Drew looks like a sweet confection. I adore her in this retro-inspired gown, but I could do without the bright red lip to accent her delicately muted mauve dress. Sigh. So close.
Olivia Wilde
I usually love Olivia’s red carpet dresses, but this one scram Dancing with the Stars…and not in a good way!
Lindsay Price
Loving this rich color on Lindsay, but would prefer to see her in something a bit more structured, a little less floppy.
January Jones
Cut-outs and futuristic angles somehow look elegant on Ms. Jones. I say Yay!
Kate Walsh
I’ll give Kate a thumbs up for a fresh, breath of air in the form of this strapless Grecian number.
Heidi Klum
Heidi flaunts her baby bump in a fitted Marchesa dress that skims every curve of her body. I don’t love it. And it kinda creeps me out how exact we can see her very pregnant silhouette.
Leighton Meester
Lovely as ever! I personally hate Grecian dresses, but Leighton pulls it off well.
Sandra Oh
Nothing ground-breaking here, Sandra, but at least you tamed it down this year. I usually cringe when I see her red carpet dresses, but she played it safe this time around. Whew.
Hayden Pannetierre
Egads. Red hot mess. I hate this dress and her hair looks greasy. I also don’t really like Hayden, so that might have something do with the harsh critique..
Kyra Sedgwick
Horrible, awful, no-good, very bad dress. And what stylist thought it would be a good idea to punctuate this dusty rose beaded mess with a black peep-toe pump?
AnnaLynne McCord
I was not a fan of AnnaLynne McCord’s scandalously short 80s-style prom dress. Everyone else was so elegant. What was up with Ms. McCord?
