Baseball Spring Training in Arizona—Where you can Catch all of the Games
The desert state of Arizona boasts the Grand Canyon—one of the Wonders of the World—however this is not the only reason that people venture to this state every year around spring time. Arizona happens to host one of the best spring training leagues in the country, where ten of the Major League Baseball teams head to the valley to complete two months of spring training, prior to the start of the next baseball season.
All of the teams play against each other in a preseason league that has been dubbed, The Cactus League. Fans love it because they get to see some of their favorite teams and players battling it out on the field against each other. The Cactus League offers a taste of the season, before it even starts, and avid fans could not be any happier. This guide will detail where you can catch all of the Cactus League games in Arizona, and where to stay while you are in town. Batter up!

The Brewers call this 7,000 seat ballpark home each and every spring, as they gear up and head out for Arizona to play their hand in the Cactus league. The facility is considered to be the most state-of-the-art of all the facilities and according to their website; every seat is the best seat in the house. Located in central Phoenix, fans traveling are offered many places to stay at and eat, for low costs, and of course, affordable tickets to the big game.

The Oakland A’s have been conducting their spring training in Arizona for more than twenty-five years, and counting, even before the inception of the Cactus league. Their stadium regularly is packed to the brim and can house around 9,000 fans. The A’s play about 14 games here and then travel to other stadiums to complete their Cactus League preseason schedules.

For many years on end, the Texas Rangers have been conducting their spring training schedule at the large training facility and ball park that is Surprise stadium. With seating for more than 10,000 patrons, the Rangers usually will sell out. They play 14 home games here each year as part of their 28 game Cactus League schedule. The natives of Surprise could not be any happier to welcome the Rangers back each season.

Due to Arizona being the D-backs hometown state, tickets can be hard to come by for this 11,000 capacity stadium. But if you get your hands on tickets, you are in for one hell of a treat.

In fact, ever since the team itself was created, via an MLB expansion, they have hosted their spring training at this cozy little stadium in Tucson. With seating for almost 9,000 persons, as well as several pro golf courses nearby, it could not be any more of an inviting retreat for tourists to enjoy a vacation in the calm, spring weather, some golfing, and of course, spring training baseball.

For the past thirty years, the Chicago Cubs have hosted their annual spring training at the HoHoKam Park/Fitch Park facilities in Mesa, Arizona. The park is ideal for the Cubs, who regularly will pack the seats, and has seating for about 13,000. The park has one main facility as well as several other diamonds and is ideally situated in central Arizona. In 1999, the Cubs set a Cactus League attendance record by drawing 171,681 patrons to 15 dates at the park, making them one of the most popular Cactus League teams.

Every spring, the Seattle Mariners share this stadium with the Padres at the huge and relatively new Peoria Sports Complex, in Peoria, Arizona. They play 15 home games here as well as two special games here against the Padres, and then travel to other Cactus league stadiums to play against other hosting MLB teams. In addition to 6 practice fields, the stadium can house 11,000 cheering fans, making for one hell of spring training experience.
