Sometimes even the most fashionable people fall prey to disastrous fashion faux-pas. Here is a guide of looks to avoid.
Low Rise
I am so sick of seeing guy’s butts in full view…their underwear at their waist but their jeans falling to their knees, that I am about to start a petition to end it once and for all. It’s not attractive, it’s not cute and it’s really over. You can’t think this looks good, really?
I see some people still wearing acid wash despite the fact that it went out of style 20 years ago. I know people are into wearing ‘80’s fashion, but this is too much. There is a way to modernize retro, and acid wash is not it. Stay away. Stay far away.
Faded jeans are pretty taboo these days, and I think the randomly placed bleach spots are just as bad, if not worse. They widen your legs in the wrong area (who wants a wider thigh?) and they run out of style far faster than a classic pair of good fitting, dark blue jeans.
Mostly a problem for women, the visible panty line can just ruin your look. This is why g-strings and SPANX were invented. Really, who wants to be picking a wedgie all night? Trust me, the VPL is not a good look and no one can get away with it.
Carpenter Crack
This used to be a male phenomenon, but with so many people going commando and so many low rise jeans, it’s everywhere, regardless of your sex. Listen people, put on some underwear. And low-rise be gone!
The Visible Thong
Whether you call it a G-String or Thong, it was invented to keep panty visibility to a minimum. Therefore, when you can see the string of your panties above your jeans, it really defeats the purpose. Again, I blame this on low rise jeans. Sometimes, you can go too low.
The Muffin Top
This is simply a case of buying pants that are too tight. Then, you roll over the waist forming a ‘muffin top’. Not flattering on anyone. This can happen to the thinnest of people if they buy their pants too tight, or, once again, too low. Proper fit is crucial.
The Tight Roll
It’s not too often you see someone wearing this dated fashion trend these days, but I have to warn you not to do it, in case someone tries to bring it back. This is why boot cut was invented..it slims you! Tight roll..does not.
Men in Skinny Jeans
Only Iggy Pop can pull this off.
