Awkward Movies I Watched With My Parents...
It's hard to appreciate the Alfonso Cuarón's cinematography when you're constantly looking over at your dad who is covering his eyes. Here are a handful of films that I regrettably watched with my parents. Any similar experiences?
Y Tu Mamá También
To this day, my dad denies seeing this with me in the theaters, so I think he is experiencing some type of acute repression. We always go to see art films together, but this one was pretty difficult to enjoy, starting with the very first scene, which definitely included a closeup of a hairy butt. Had I gone to see this by myself, or with someone other than my dad, I might not have choked on my popcorn.
Thank god my dad fell asleep during this movie night. I kept looking over at him to make sure. Nightmares for weeks…
Movies that made me cry in a bad way.

Old Boy was an incredible movie. Really! But probably the last thing you’d ever want to watch with your dad…or any family member for that matter. Without giving too much away, I can share that hints of incest becomes incest smacking you in the face by the ending. Don’t bring this one to your family reunion.
You can add any of these movies to this list.
…But this time, in a good way!
The Piano
Seem like a harmless romantic arts flick, right? WRONG!!! Harvey Keitel goes full frontal in this movie. Total embarrassment.
For Keeps
The opening credits show an internal view of … um … well … the getting pregnant process. My sister and I watched it with my father. NOT comfortable, not comfortable at all.
