The Kansas City Convention and Entertainment Center, named for popular, two-term Kansas City Mayor, eagle scout and lifelong supporter of scouting, H. Roe Bartle, consists of nearly 400,000 square feet of column free exhibition space along with 29 meeting rooms. The adjoining Conference Center adds a three story area with 19 additional meeting rooms, a 33,000 square feet lobby and a 24,000 square feet ballroom. Most of the space within the complext can be divided into smaller, sound-proof spaces for convention and conference needs. On the north end of the complex is the historic Municipal Auditorium, a venue including the art deco Music Hall and Little Theater. Together, the complex covers eight city blocks and the main convention space is built over two interstate freeways in downtown Kansas City. Additionally, Barney Allis Plaza, an outdoor park with stage and vendor facilities, is built on top of an underground parking facility which provides space for 1,000 vehicles.

One of the most distinctive attractions at the Kansas City Convention Center are the 230' tall pylons rising above the high roof of Bartle Hall. Completed in 1994, each pylon is topped with an art deco design measuring 30' x 40'. At first despised by Kansas City residents, they were rudely referred to as the 'hair curlers' and other less savory names. Today, most of K.C. is proud of these beautiful additions to their magnificent skyline. Each of the four towers connects huge steel cables that support the roof of Bartle Hall, allowing for the nearly 400,000 square feet of column free exhibit space.

In April 2007, the convention complex dedicated the newest jewel, a 135,000 square feet ballroom facility. The addition includes a stunning 46,450 ballroom/multi-use space. Together with the $300 million Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and the Sprint Center arena, the new area will create an impressive complex for sports enthusiasts, music lovers, conventioneers and arts patrons alike.

Bartle Hall Convention Center features 388,000 square-feet of exhibition space, roughly the length and width of eight football fields. The hall is a part of the Kansas City Convention Center complex located near the Allis Plaza. Due it's large size, the hall has the ability to be split, by sound-proof barriers, into 5 separate halls.
