San Diego is a great destination for couples and especially for families! There is SO much to do and see! Sea World, the Zoo, beaches, Seaport Village, Old Towne...the list goes on and on! Too bad I don't live in California anymore...I miss my Sea World annual pass!
awesome guide! I heart Shamu :) i lived in SD for a couple years and wanted to mention a couple other FREE places to check out: Balboa Park (beautiful!), Old Town (where San Diego started) and Pacific Beach (lots of fun shops and restaurants on Garnet).
I’ve always wanted to go to San Diego, and this was an awesome guide to the city. (I’ve been to California but not down to SD). I know people from there and they always rave about how beautiful it is… (I’m from Philadelphia, which I love, but of course, there’s always the curiosity about faraway places, especially when they have such positive reputations… keep it up!
Where to go and What to do!
Ok, you’ll need at least a good 3 nights and 4 days…maybe more! A must do is Sea World…The show are phenomenal and the whales and dolphins will take your breath away! The 2nd must do is San Deigo Zoo…you’ve got to see this place! It’s laid out nice…great walking and the animals are so incredible! Don’t forget to bring your camera! Bring lots of money too because you’ll want souvenirs for sure!
While in San Diego, since it’s on the coast, you’ll need to visit a few of the beaches and Mission Bay. Don’t miss out on Seaport Village…this is a great place to have dinner over or by the water and the shops are way fun too!
Another hot spot is the San Diego Wild Animal Park, which is sort of like being on a safari. The Aerospace Museum has a lot to offer if you’re into flight. While in the neighborhood you can stay at or visit Hotel Del Coronado where it’s said that ghosts roam some of the rooms!
If you want a fun place for a California vacation with the kids, then this is it! There is so much to do, there is no way you’ll get bored. The little kids are sure to love Legoland.
There are a varieties of hotels from upscale to family economy and most hotels offer package deals. Be sure to get a hotel on Mission Bay or ion Hotel Circle on Hwy 8. Look it up! These areas are well suited to visiting all the hot spots!
