Kahului is the largest town on the Hawaiian island of Maui and is located along the north shore of central Maui. Kahului hosts Maui's main airport, Kahului Airport, deep-draft harbor, light industrial areas, and commercial shopping centers. It is a census-designated place (CDP) within Maui County, Hawaiʻi with a total population (as of the 2000 Census) of 20,146 persons.Kahului is the retail center for Maui residents and there are several malls and major stores (including department stores in the Kaahumanu Center); other significant groupings of stores are in Lāhainā and the Happy Valley area of Wailuku. Retailing changed greatly with the arrival of big-box retailers from the U.S. Mainland, including Wal-Mart and Home Depot.Kahului is not generally considered a tourist destination, but does feature the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum, Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary, Kanaha Beach County Park, and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
I’d never go to Hawaii without an ability to drive around the island at least once during the visit. Packages like this can be pretty decent (worth checking out).

Maui Mall is a beautiful, open-air shopping center that features 40 locally owned stores and 12-screen multiplex. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, the mall holds a Farmer's Market and Craft Fair where artisans and merchants from around the community come to sell their fresh vegetables, fruit, and artistic wares. The mall is located just across the street from Kahului Harbor, just five minutes from the airport.
I love the perfect travel bag. But i hate trying to replace them after i wear them out. Everyone offers (stupid) travel bags. When i found eBags… well, the hunt was over (gotta love Vanguard, btw). Anyway, whether u’r going to Maui or not, you’ll probably find the bags you wish you had HERE. (ps – tell them Anke sent you)
