$5 After 5 to park in downtown Harrisburg, PA
.jpg)
Bargain parking for your night on the town! Be sure to exit all by 5 a.m. or you will have to pay regular fees!
Going to the Whitaker Center or Strawberry Square side of town?
Parking at the Walnut Street garage is your closest option. You won’t even have to go outside once you’re parked. The elevator has a Whitaker/Strawberry specific stop!
And always remember to make a mental note of the floor on which you parked. Because … um … walking around aimlessly while pushing the panic button on your key fob because your car is MIA? Yeah … not so fun. (Yes, my big sissy, I’m just as much at fault for not paying attention. Having a look at the view from almost every floor of the garage while looking for your car was fun though, no?)

River Street Garage is by far the closest parking garage to the downtown hullabaloo. There is often a line to get in and almost always a line to get out (especially between 2am and 3am).
It is directly beside the Tom Sawyer Cantina and across the street from the Brick Haus. (Seriously, you can’t miss it. It’s big, bright, and on the left side!)
Cash! Cash! Cash! A PSECU atm is located right outside the door.

State Street
FREE!
If you are lucky enough to get a spot it’s free, free, free to park on State Street.
It’s my “garage” of choice as I am too economical (aka broke) to pay $5.00. Parking on State Street puts you directly in between the start of the downtown scene and The Firehouse Restaurant. (Go there! Get some crab puffs!)
Cash! Cash! Cash! A Belco Federal Credit Union atm just around the corner if you’re headed in the downtown direction.
