Built in 1933 at the bequest of philanthropist Lillie Hitchock Coit, the tower is home to an amazing array of Works Progress Administration murals painted by such artists as Jose Moya del Pino, John Langley Howard and William Hesthal during the Great Depression. Located in North Beach on Telegraph Hill, the tower can be reached by climbing the steep, but lovely Filbert Street steps.

Had a great meal at Boulevard. Wait staff was terrific. Extensive wine list. Excellent food: Beet & goat cheese ravioli, duck with corn spaetzel. And a good distance away for a brisk walk back to the hotel for dinner.

If you are a runner, From the Palace, head down to Market Street, then Left at the Embarkadero and down toward Fisherman’s Wharf…or Right and down to the Bay Bridge and the baseball park. Saul

When you are done, the waitress adds up the plates and that is how you know how much to pay. John Reilly and I make a trip to Sushi Boat at least once everytime we visit San Francisco, and we have been going for at least 15 years. Saul
