Ever since I moved back to LA I've been a serial neighborhood hopper. And why not? In a city as large and sprawling as LA it seems a shame not to explore its many, many neighborhoods. Here are my personal faves.

Library Bar is my personal favorite when it comes to Downtown bars (sorry Redwood Bar, you were a close second). The beer list is stellar and the environment is hip without being too hip, if you know what I mean.

The first time I went to this Downtown bar I fell in love with it. It was swanky without being too pretentious, and more importantly they have a great selection of craft beers. They have beers to suit all kinds of palates here, even if you’re inclined to sweeter brews like myself (oh, how I love that Floris Apple Ale).
A more traditional place to meet a date, this bar is right by the library and doesn’t require being sober enough to actually read.
