Dear Diary,
Dana and Charlie came in from Chicago and he ALWAYS wants to compare Denver’s food to Chicago’s food. He wanted a chili-cheese dog. EWWWW! Why ruin a perfectly good dog when all it needs is mustard? He made me taste it, and while I’d never admit it, I love it so much I am waiting for the next excuse I have to get one! In private because it’s so messy and no girl in her right mind would eat one on a date!
The dogs really do snap when you bite into them and they have several specialty dogs with lots of stuff piled on them. I also recommend the fried green beans for a somewhat less unhealthy alternative to the fries.
This hot dog joint on Colfax has a special dog area built under their covered patio. Fresh water and free treats make this a popular dog destination when we are out for a stroll. And the hot dogs and frozen bananas are a nice treat for people.

A ‘green’ alternative to the traditional fries are the fried green beans sold by Steve’s. Lightly fried and salted, the green beans are snappin! If you prefer ‘orange’, then maybe the fried carrots are more your thing.
