The Alcove always seems to be packed. And while the most crowded meal to eat here is probably breakfast, they offer some great lunch options, which include a nice array of salads. The last time I was here I got the grilled vegetable salad— the prices here aren’t cheap, but the food is pretty decent.

In addition to breakfast, Los Feliz also loves a good patio and the one at Alcove rivals the one at Home, though you don’t expect your mom to come walking out the front door at this cafe & bakery. Instead, you’ll order at the counter (with amazing efficiency) and then watch other plates piled high with leafy greens or fluffy eggs until yours finally comes out and you wonder if you should have ordered whatever it was that just got set down across from you. Huge portions make up for the fact that Alcove is a bit pricier than most breakfast places.
And you won’t be able to resist the decadent pastries on display at the front, so just get a massive slice to go.
