Ever since I moved back to LA I've been a serial neighborhood hopper. And why not? In a city as large and sprawling as LA it seems a shame not to explore its many, many neighborhoods. Here are my personal faves.

If you’re looking for super traditional Vietnamese fare you might scoff at this place, but if you’re looking for light and fresh Asian fare you will be rather happy. The menu here has something for everyone, but just be forewarned you might have a hard time deciding what to order (If you need a recommendation I suggest the noodle bowl or the shaking beef.)
While Gingergrass isn’t exactly traditional Vietnamese I love coming here just the same— everything here just tastes so fresh I can’t stay away. They offer a pretty good range of stuff on their menu, including claypot curries! You have your choice of shrimp or tofu, but the lemongrass-lime curry sauce is non-negotiable. And delicious.
