I have always lived so close to the Mercury that I kind of kicked myself for not going until last year. I love the organic food and intimate feeling inside. The really cool thing is the live bands that play in the upstairs dance hall! Check with the Mercury for who is playing when and definitely check out their Swing Night. They offer lessons, too. I need some for sure. The Mercury is a very quaint, locally owned Denver favorite that is unlike any other restaurant/bar/danceclub/ place I’ve ever found.
Counter culture place, run by Marlyn Megenity.
Cafe downstairs serving organic hippy food.
Dance floor upstairs with a couple of challenging humps interrupting the floor surface :).
Tango on Friday nights, sometimes with live music. Big swing/lindy hop night on Tuesday.
Your Zen man might suggest open mike night or salsa lessons at this bohemian warehouse palace. Wear your brightest colors and eat beforehand, the food is bland and chewy.

If you’re concerned about more than just the food quality, you might want to give Mercury Cafe a try. The Mercury serves organic foods and tries to get its ingredients as close to home as possible. They have also applied for a permit to generate electricity from a small wind turbine and solar panels. So the Mercury is green in more ways than one.
