We all know about Whole Foods. And it’s a known fact that some of the best stuff can be found here. Sure, you’re going to pay – this place ‘aint cheap – but you’ll impress your friends with obscure ingredients, magazine-worthy produce, and lovely cuts of meat. And the store’s own 365 brand is a great go-to for basics.

I love the bulk foods aisle at Whole Foods: tamari almonds, chocoloate-covered pretzels, trail mix with white chocolate chips…there are virtually endless tasty snacks to choose from and smuggle into a meeting. Feeling sneaky? Use the little brown bags (instead of the clear plastic ones) for your stash and hide what you’re eating from everyone else.

OK…don’t hate. But my first sushi experience was right here at Whole Foods (known as “Bread & Circus” at the time). My best friend (and roommate at the time) is Korean, and after already existing on a college diet of seaweed wrapped in rice (courtesy of care packages sent from her mom), I was ready to try the (safe and boring) cucumber maki rolls. Then, I quietly moved onto the spicy tuna rolls. And the rest, my friends, is history.

You can’t beat Whole Foods for top-notch produce, of which you’ll be eating a lot during this cleanse, and random health-nutty things like flax crackers and Teeccino.
