Bauhaus – admittedly one of my favorite coffee houses in all of Seattle. The coffee’s great and the people watching keeps me coming back for me. If I’m ever looking for entertainment with my coffee, Bauhaus would be the place to go.

Pros: Great location, perfect for people watching, lots of seating, and late night hours.

Cons: Shoddy wifi connection, crowded, very loud and noisy.

This Capitol Hill coffee shop is the perfect launching ground for your tour of Pike/Pine, with best coffee, piles of Top Pot donuts, and some of the best people watching in the city (both in and outside the shop) this is a great place to spend any morning.

During the day, Bauhaus can be a quiet place to work, but it gets crowded in the evening. Don’t count on using the outlets or the wifi. (The signal is sometimes spotty.)

When Mary Stewart Masterson was here in 1997 to film the little indy pic “The Book of Stars” – this is the coffee she wanted. Even though they were filming feet from Vivace for over a week. It’s a great shop, often offering single Ding Dongs in the pastry case. The coffee is good – interior is a great old book store covered in plenty to read.
