Tucked away in the Park Hill neighborhood, Cherry Tomato serves Italian food that both children and adults will enjoy. Every table comes stocked with crayons and the small park across the street make it fun for kids. Tom and Lynette can enjoy a glass of wine before the nighttime routine starts.
Housed in a former pharmacy, this Italian bistro still retains its character with tiled floors and original woodwork. The moderately priced restaurant caters to everyone from families with young children (crayons on every table) to singles on romantic dinners (later in the evening). For something totally tasty, try the restaurants signature dish – Pasta Felese.
Chef Tom Felese is head chef and owner of this Park Hill establishment that keeps the customers coming. When it first opened, it was the absolute hot spot for Italian Dining and after several years, it still has a busy dining room, weekend wait and customers who consider it their neighborhood restaurant. The specialty of the house is pasta felese, a creamy bow-tie pasta dish named after the Chef. Other standouts are the grilled calamari, chicken parmesan, and chicken saltimboco. As far as service, Amjab is the man to see. Families and couples a like come to the Tomato for excellent dining in a comfortable atmosphere.

For a light dessert, I love heading to the Cherry Tomato for their lemon sorbetto. It’s light, refreshing and the perfect ending to a heavy Italian meal or just on it’s own with a cappucino. Served in a scooped out Lemon skin, the sorbetto is almost frozen solid and the perfect belnd of sweet and tart. Ask for a shot of limoncello to really get the citusy effect.
