I’ve recently moved to the Dallas Metroplex and have been looking for anything in the reviews for a good burger joint. In Houston, I was able to drive 5 or 10 minutes and hit a great burger place, as rustic or sports out as I was so inclined to visit. Any avid burger fans in Dallas? I know where you can get great meat if you want to grill your own, but something about having someone else do it for makes that much better…

Hey Shawna Having been exposed to the beef selections in grocery stores, I can understand you desire to seek out a local butcher. I’ve not been to Denver in a while, but I recall that there are a number of really good butchers. My advice is to Google butcher shops in your area and then research them on the local restaurant and dining blogs. Locals in your area are the best resource for commenting on local butchers. As an example, Hamm’s has been around since 1954, and has a number of loyal customers that sing our shops praises. Best of luck to you on your search… Buy and eat locally.

I can appreciate the desire to eat more sensibly – I guess the old sage saying of everything in moderation holds some truth. Too much of anything is probably not good for you, but come on a great steak, and a full bodied cab. Hard to beat – maybe you can help me understand something about the vegetarians – when I serve a meat based lasagna, with a creamy bachamel sauce, and 4 cheeses, and make a red sauce with no meat and everything else being equal – the meat based lasagna goes 1st… Interesting- I know.
