There are a lot of reasons to go out drinking in L.A. Maybe you like to be around people (negative), spend too much on drinks (nu uh) or wait in annoying lines (not likely). In my mind, there isn't much that's better than an impromptu day trip. Hit the road, spend the night somewhere, do something fun. You don't plan for months, so it's not stressful and it's just one night, so what's the worst that could happen? So the idea of taking one of these little trips, in conjunction with the idea of drinking a lot of wine during the day time really appealed to me when I recently went wine tasting in Santa Barbara. And it was pretty fun.
