Even if you don't live in the L.A. Metro Area, you probably feel like you have some idea of what Pasadena is like - from Beach Boy's songs or parades that you watch on TV (because you are either 80 or 5 years old) or what have you. It's true, this city nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains is idyllic, peaceful and clean. Still, I thought of at least 10 reasons why you should never go North on the 110 past the 101. Exit! Exit!!

According to Wikipedia (the 100% reliable guide to all things -pedia related): Ecotourism, also known as ecological tourism, is a form of tourism that appeals to ecologically and socially conscious individuals. Regular flirting is fun, but sometimes it's a little difficult to work up the nerve and face the possibility of rejection face to face. Long before the shy and socially awkward could turn to the internet for their uninhibited flirting needs, we - um, I mean *they* - could practice car flirting. All the fun of regular flirting but when you're turned down, you can just speed through the next yellow light and be done with it.

If you go out drinking on occasion - or frequently - or every night and just tell people you meet that you only go out on occasion - you probably have a "type" of bar that you prefer. Maybe somewhere you can get a G&T on the cheap, flirt with someone who takes one less shower per week than he should, and bust a righteous move to some 80s music wearing nothing fancier than jeans and eyeliner. But every now and then, the antiglamour of that lifestyle can wear on even the most devoted of dive ...

I've never been accused of being a fashion plate as I'm comfortable in jeans and flats in the vast majority of settings. Combine that with the fact that I've been nursing a pretty severe addiction to cheap accessories since the first time I walked into a Forever 21 a few months back, and the Fashion District is just where you would have found me on a sweltering and gorgeous S...

A frequent complaint of L.A. 'transplants' (I'm not sure when that moniker goes away - I think as soon as you shut up about how terrible L.A. is) is that our fine city isn't actually like a city : it's too sprawling, no one takes public transportation, there's no real downtown, etc. This doesn't really bother me, I normally will just ignore these people, but it turns out it's not actually that difficult to do the whole "urban" thing in L.A.
