About Me

I'm a 20-something in Chicago spending my time balancing work, a social life, attempting to date, kittens, creative outlets, and the interwebs. I love video games and dancing in my apartment, and would rather eat junk food for a month than do my dishes (which I have done)... I blog, I tweet, and I don't always speak in a coherent language. But most importantly, I love getting out there and having fun. That's what it's all about right?

It's part of our picturesque skyline that makes Chicago truly Chicago. Not to mention it is now the largest skyscraper in the United States and the 5th tallest freestanding building in the world. No matter what you call it, this 108-floor building is an impressive part of Chicago's history.

So many times when I talk about my instrument, I get the common response of "what???" Baritone horns and Euphoniums are not uncommon, they were developed in 1840 and can be found in many orchestra, concert ensembles, and marching bands around the world. You can also spot them in modern rock bands and even site them in movies (Harry Potter 4, anyone?) ... So, to end some confusion... Here's a basic beginners guide to the best instrument ever. (Okay, some bias, but it is an awesome horn!)

It's summer and Reality TV shows are taking over the airwaves... Producers love them because they're cheap to make, and we love them because just maybe we can get our 15-minutes of fame... Not to mention, well, the whole schadenfreude thing... I'm not afraid to admit I'm hooked on more than one of these series... what about you?? What are some of your favorites, the ones you love to hate, and why?

Some people might still be writing off the Netbook craze, but I think it's here to stay and is definitely shaping the future technology that we rely on daily. I've been an Mac loyalist for a bit now, and had no intentions of ever getting a PC again. However, as I found my old 12" G4 iBook getting slower and not doing what I needed it to do (it was still running Panther!).. I knew I needed a new laptop. Like a lot of people though, I can't just drop over a grand for a new shiny device -- ev...

A lot has happened recently, but almost all of that has been out-shined and out-reported by the news of Michael Jackson's death. While his death is a great loss to his family, friends, and the countless fans who are making themselves known across the world -- more has happened in our global community and I want to take the time to share a few with you...

I'll admit that I'm one of Verizon's thousands of clients wishing I owned an iPhone, but absolutely hating the idea of switching networks. The iPhone gives you the connectivity to keep up in this ever e-global world, lets you play games, watch television and movies, as well as serves as an mp3 player, and just the practicality of making sure you don't get lost with various public transportation application and Google Maps (one of the features I covet). But we love our service. And we'll st...

Unless you’re an avid gamer and can back it up, wearing too much gaming gear makes you look like a poser. Personally, I prefer geek-chic — or as I call it, Lipstick Geek. I’m still feminine, yet I can generally hold my own (or try!) with most games. And yes, I’d definitely be wearing a skirt to any LAN parties or Wii Tournaments. Just because I'm a girl-geek doesn't mean that I need everything to be pink! Here are some awesome accessories any female Nintendo Fan might want...
