I'm a sushi fanatic-- if not for Mercury poisoning I'd eat the stuff ALL the time. And it looks like I'm not alone when it comes to my love of sushi-- people seem to express their love of fish and rice in a whole slew of mediums.

The other day I was wondering around IKEA (yes, I am masochistic,) and I was noticing that a lot of the items have people names, and since I'm also egocentric I thought, "How come there's no ELISA furniture?" But I guess I can't really complain, surprisingly there's not a single piece of furniture named BJORN in the IKEA catalog.

In case you weren't aware, there's currently a MASSIVE wildfire burning just north of Los Angeles. And while this isn't an unordinary occurrence in Southern California, it's still always a tragedy when wildfires rage in and around our city. And while this guide may be a little tongue-in-cheek at times, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the fire fighters who have been risking their lives to fight this fire.

I'm not exactly sure why you would want to make cupcakes look like mashed potatoes and gravy or spaghetti and meatballs. I mean, fruits and vegetables should be made to look like cupcakes! Not the other way around! Anyway, feel free to post a picture of cupcakes masquerading as brussel sprouts if you can find it!

In case you haven't heard, "Reading Rainbow" has been CANCELED. Yes, friends, it is truly the end of an era. If you came of age in the '80s or '90s, chances are you spent many an afternoon watching LeVar Burton talk about how wonderful books were (never mind the irony that it took a television to show to get kids to read books). And odds are you didn't stop at "Reading Rainbow," what other "educational" TV shows did you watch?

So I recently purchased a new laptop and had a HELL of a time trying to buy a case for it. For various reasons I ended up buying a PC, and while PC users may still outrank Mac users, it seems like NOBODY makes cute cases for PCs. So I ended up searching high and low around this town in order to find something to fit my 16-inch Toshiba. And here is my story (any resemblance to "Goldilocks" is strictly coincidental).

Los Angeles is NOTORIOUS for horrible traffic, and rightly so. Freeway and street traffic will sometimes drive you (no pun intended,) so insane you will be willing to sacrifice your first born child just to be able to step on the gas. So here are some places to avoid like the plague.

I'm cool with the whole salad bar thing, but you can only go to the salad bar at your local supermarket SO many times (although I do have to say I LOVE me some croutons). More often than not, I'll be reading a book and I'll think to myself, "This would really make an awesome movie..." Does that mean I should be working at a studio optioning books? Perhaps. But in the meantime, here are some books that I think would make pretty good films.

I LOVE curry. It doesn't matter what country it originates from, what color it is, or what type of meat or vegetable is in it, because chances are, I will eat it (or at least taste it). And don't think all curries are alike. Just because you've had Thai curry doesn't mean you can skip out on trying on Burmese curry-- they're all deliciously different. So here's a quick primer when it comes to curry.
