About Me
Name: juan sheem Birthday: 6/1/1980 Gender: Male Interests: Like Roberto Duran I say, "no mas." And like Duk Koo Kim I say, "ughhhh" and die in the ring because my stubbornness and pride as a Korean won't allow me to see that I am up against an opponent too strong, too fast and most importantly... TOO SEXAYYYY! Expertise: Pleasing women... by leaving them alone. Touching women... and having restraining orders filed. Loving women... and then waking up from my dreams.

Call me a hater if you will, but there are just some people in the spotlight today that really get under my skin. Sometimes there are good reasons and sometimes it's just this unexplained visceral hatred that stems from inside of me, but I'm sure everyone has people that get them to react this way. Let's vent!

Maybe (Primarily) because mi corazon is on the opposite coast attending one of her many work related seminars, I've decided to get a little saucy with the guidespot and make a guide that'll finally give me the fucking props that I deserve! Who can honestly claim that they've never gone online to troll for pictures of good looking women (and men, I suppose) in the pursuit of appeasing our lustful nature? Guy or girl, feel free to add your three cents. I am so going to regret this, but the t...

The reason I like Germans so much (besides Oktoberfest and Heidi Klum) is that they have a word for everything. To wit: schadenfreude. This translates as one's enjoyment and pleasure at the misfortune of others. And as much as I like to hate on bums and the usual dregs of society, it's the truly mighty that have fallen upon hard times that really get me feeling good about myself. Hence, the one hit wonder list. Feel free to go wild!

"It's been a good run, but it's time for us to part ways". "It's not you, it's the economy." "Get the fuck out of here and don't ever come back!" Maybe these are some of the things that you've heard receiving the employment ax. Thankfully, my most recent termination was amicable in the extreme, with lots of gentle assurances and wildly erotic subtext in my firing e-mail. OK, so maybe that was my imagination. ps I can't tell if the guy in the guide icon is hurting from unemploymen...
The Seven Deadly Sins in Los Angeles: Greed

Although gluttony and certainly lust are way up there in my quest for "favorite deadly sin", I think I might have to give the top spot to greed. LA's a big city and there's lots of mooks to be taken and money to be made. Here are a few places that I've seen greed rear its head and a few people that make my avarice pale in comparison.

When you really think about it, envy isn't all that bad. If it weren't for this supposed cardinal sin, none of us would be inspired to try and better ourselves, using other people as a barometer for their own personal achievements and success. Or so I tell myself when I hate on people who have lots of money, drive around in luxury cars and snub all those who are of a lower socioeconomic level than they.

In the pursuit of trying to be unique (just like everyone else) I've gotten to the point in my life where going out to clubs and bars on a weekly basis just isn't an enjoyable past time. Still, my inchoate mind screams out for some sort of entertainment activities. After scouring the area for some hole in the wall spots and under the table activities, here's what I found.

As much as sex, drugs and rock n' roll exert their great influences on our society, it is only with our gluttonous love of food that America's favorite sin is truly revealed. With over half of our population tipping the scales into obesity, it kinda makes you wonder why we do this to ourselves. Oh yeah, because food tastes awesome!

Maybe because I've lived in this city for so long I've become blase to seeing celebrities walking around an comingling with hoi polloi, but I guess it's a big deal to some people. Here are some of the most celeb-worthy destinations, but feel free to add in your fifteen cents... try to make a dollar out of fifteen cents.

Like just about everyone who liberally partakes in alcohol consumption, after a hard night of drinking, the gut wrenching hangover usually gets me to swear off the sauce forever. And yet, hundreds of unrealized teetotaling declarations later, I'm still drinking - sometimes to excess - and experiencing the same awful results. Because when you really sit down and think about it, hangovers suck something fierce but like taxes, movie previews and Gehenna, the eternal lake of fire, it's just the...

Sometimes you tell yourself, "I'm a special person, and as such, I deserve a special meal fit for someone of my talents and caliber! Let's go celebrate by eating *insert appropriate cuisine*" On the other hand, I'm jaded and world weary, broken down and battered by life's cruel shots. When normal people think of eating out, they're confronted with issues like "Chinese or Italian" and "take out or dine in". Unfortunately for me, my crippling level of poverty requires me to focus on one fo...

Despite its world-class status as a mover and shaker in every major industry, LA is filled with a ton of slothful lazy ass people. I always thought this sin was kind of a give-away, I mean, how bad can being lazy really be? Let's find out:

"In Vino Veritas" is just a sexafied way of saying people do some wild shit when they're drunk. Considering Napa Valley was once a sleepy little part of Northern California only highlights the great changes that the wineries have brought in the past couple of decades. On the surface it's calm and collected, but if you look carefully, the undercurrent of drunkenness pervades everything! And only a five hour trip from LA.

If you haven't noticed already, lately Hollywood has had a glut of movies based on different mediums, most notably the comic book arena. Just in the past few years we've had Spiderman 1-3, Superman, Batman, two Hulk films, three X-men movies, the list goes on. There have been some attempts to bring to screen less well known books, but most of them (V for Vendetta) have been straight abortions. Feel free to add on what you feel would make a good transition from the graphic novel to the scre...

As far as I can tell, Las Vegas is just Los Angeles' most distant suburb. Even though it has its own independent infrastructure and economy, on any given trip you will see the place overrun with daytrippers from LA taking in the sights and sounds of Sin City. Truly a Mecca of gambling and free booze only 300 miles from LA, might as well learn to paint the town the Angeleno way.
