Blizzard Beach is one of Walt Disney World's thrilling outdoor waterparks, based around the fantastical story of an ex-ski resort turned into a waterpark by an alligator. Its rides center around "Mount Gushmore," with free-fall slides, whitewater group raft adventures, side-by-side racing slides and a wave pool. The warmed water provides a fantastic way to luxuriate in Florida's ideal summer climate while still keeping cool and having a fun family adventure. The waterpark is just a short drive southwest of the Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon areas of the massive Disney complex.
