Using a combination of theatrical performances, high tech interactive displays, and artifacts from the state's storied past, the Washington State History Museum explores what Washington once was and what it is today. The museum is located on Pacific Avenue, just across the street from the University of Washington-Tacoma campus. Stroll through the museum's Great Hall of Washington History and try your hand at learning a native language, wander through recreations of plank houses and turn-of-the-century stores populated by historical figures, or just sit down in the three screen Columbia River Theatre for a trip into history.
