The Contemporary Arts Center has dedicated itself to being a multi-discipline arts center and features a 10,000 square-foot gallery space with rotating exhibitions. The center is the "gateway" to the downtown area's Arts District, and is within walking distance of the Riverwalk Marketplace. The center is home to the Schramel Conservatory of Dance and the New Orleans Ballet Theatre, allowing them studio and performance space.
