Existing on the exact same site since 1791, the French Market is the oldest public market in the United States, offering historic restaurants and all kinds of shopping. The Market takes place in the historic French Quarter, blocks south of Jackson Square. Visitors to the market can also enjoy a weekly performance by NOCCA Jazz Band, in the Flea Market.
