Description

The Folger Shakespeare Library is the foremost research center of its kind in the world, housing the largest collection of Shakespeare materials available. Visitors can take guided tours of the library's building and grounds, view one of its temporary Rennaisance-themed exhibitions, or catch a play at the renowned Folger Theatre, which in 2007 presented "King Lear" and "The Tempest". Located in the heart of Washington's Capitol Hill district, it lies between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
