As most of you know, the laws of physics forbid there from being any kind of snow-like substance in Los Angeles around the holiday season (the closest thing we've gotten to snow in the past 20 years was some frost in the early '80s). So how is one supp...

While we'd rather not fess up to it, Los Angeles is a desert town (my apologies to the Colorado River for stealing all your water), so when summer rolls around, it gets HOT here. And what better way to escape the heat then diving into the pool or plung...

On the plus side, you can usually see the Hollywood sign pretty well. The last time I came here, I had a picnic, went to the observatory, and then did a quick hike— quite the productive day!

Every year Griffith Park holds the annual DWP Holiday Light Festival. The park gets decked out in all kinds of cool light displays. They recreate everything from the Statue of Liberty to the Hollywood Sign in twinkly lights. This year the fest is going “green” and they’re banning cars from driving around the park to see the lights. So either grab a bike or some walking shoes.
