Fort Monroe provides home for the Army's Training and Doctrine Command, the military division that prepares fighting forces for war. Located in Hampton, at the tip of the Virginia Peninsula, the fort is also a lovely vacation spot, with miles of historic sites, museums (including the Casemate Museum), and scenic views of Chesapeake Bay.
