Prescott Farm traces New England rural life back to the early 1700s, offering a glimpse of old-fashioned windmills, cottages, and other buildings. Several walking paths wind through the site, passing a scenic bird pond, stone walls, and other delights. Its historic buildings include the Overing House, the site of a valiant Revolutionary War operation, and the Hicks House, which displays antique rural farm items from the 18th and 19th centuries. The farm occupies 40 acres about six miles north of downtown Newport, just above the Newport State Airport.
