Description

Designed by the famous architect Eero Saarinen, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Chapel is a shining example of American design during the 1950s. Cylindrical on the outside, with a moat surrounding it, the chapel is incredibly intimate on the inside, its interior accentuated by undulating brick patterns and a circular skylight. This famous structure is located in the heart of the MIT campus, next to Kresge Auditorium, in downtown Cambridge.
