This huge Zoo was originally built in the late 1800s and is one of the oldest zoos in the nation. Noted as also one of the most popular zoos in the nation because it annually will attract more than three millions visitors. Experience amazing and well kept exhibits that offer thousands of different species and habitats. Make sure that you set aside at least half a day during the daytime to really see all that this zoo has to offer visitors.
Good for kids. A healthy, low budget treat that beats the expensive, fried food options at the zoo. You can bring your own watermelon in zip lock bags and have your kids munch on it throughout the day.
The Lincoln Park Zoo is FREE every single day! I would suggest avoiding it on the weekend though… a little too crowded.
Good thing the penguin house has such thick glass. Thick enough to shield the poor puffins from ElGuapo’s B.B. Gun.
From Thanksgiving to New Years, the LP Zoo has an event called “ZooLights” and decorates the entire park with Christmas lights galore. They also have special attractions such as Santa’s Safari, giant snowglobes, and ice carving.
And as always, admission is free.
