Fairbanks (IPA: [ˈfɛrˌbæŋks]) is a Home Rule City in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. At the 2000 census, the population of the city was 30,224. A State of Alaska demographer in 2004 estimates the population of the city at 29,954.

Fairbanks is the largest city in the Interior region of Alaska, and third largest in the state. The nearby College is home to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the oldest college in Alaska.
